Cam sites love a second currency. Tokens buy the show. Points, XP, VIP progress, and cashback buy a feeling of progress and, sometimes, a small discount later. People grind the second currency as if it were the first, then discover they still cannot open a private with a full loyalty bar. If you remember only one line: if it does not spend inside the room at the menu price, it is not the money.
Tokens explained and tokens versus credits cover the currencies that do spend. This page is the lookalike. VIP and premium overlaps, because VIP is often a points costume with a discount attached.
What points usually buy
A badge, a color, a wheel spin that costs points instead of tokens, a small rebate on the next pack, or access to a sale. Sometimes they buy nothing you can hold, and the bar exists to keep you logging in. Read the reward before you change your watching habits to chase it. A daily login that makes you open the site on a day you did not want to spend is not a reward. It is a funnel. Free tokens has the same trap in a more obvious costume.
If a point can be converted, the conversion rate is the whole story. A thousand points that become a dollar of tokens is a sticker chart. Do the division once. Comparing value is the same arithmetic you should already be using on packs.
What points cannot do
They generally cannot tip a model at the menu price, cannot start a private, and cannot be moved to another site. They are not a savings account. If the site shuts the program down, the bar can vanish. Do not stockpile a week of shows you did not enjoy in order to finish a bar. Your budget should be denominated in money, then tokens, and only then in whatever the confetti is called.
Fan clubs are a third thing again: a subscription to one model, not a site-wide point. Follow versus fan club keeps that separate. A loyalty program that says “support your favorites” may just mean “spend on the site”. Read the footnote.
When the program is actually useful
A straight rebate on packs you were going to buy anyway is useful. A reduced private rate you will use this week is useful. A color for your name is not, unless you enjoy colors. Username colors are the souvenir. Do not pay extra packs to earn the souvenir if the show you wanted was already affordable without it.
Site-wide contests that pay in points are marketing. Contests and leaderboards explains the public version. If the prize is more points, you are playing a closed loop.
Keep the show in tokens
Tip and buy time in the currency the model priced. Let points accumulate or ignore them. How much to tip is a token question. A loyalty bar will not answer it, and it should not change it on a night you already decided to stop.
Ignore the bar for one week
If you are not sure the points are changing your behavior, hide the widget or simply refuse to look at it for a week. If your spending drops, the bar was doing a job on you. If your spending stays the same and you do not miss a reward, the program was decoration. Habits are easier to see when the confetti is gone.
You can still take a rebate that lands on a pack you already decided to buy. That is a discount. Chasing the rebate until you buy a pack you did not need is a price increase wearing a smile. Promos work the same way. The pack you wanted is the only pack that can be “on sale”.
