Cam2Cam Explained: When to Turn Your Camera On

Cam2Cam Explained: When to Turn Your Camera On
Illustration for "Cam2Cam Explained: When to Turn Your Camera On" on AllBestCams. Cam2cam lets the performer see you. Here is how it works, what it costs, and how to keep it private.

Cam2cam, or C2C, flips the normal direction of a cam show: the performer can see you too. It is optional on most sites, usually inside a private, and it changes the feel of the show more than any other feature.

How it works

When you start a private, the site offers to share your camera and sometimes your microphone. Your stream goes only to that performer. Some sites charge a small extra per minute for it; others include it in the private rate. Not every performer accepts cam2cam, and some sites show that on the profile. On XLoveGay, for example, the private panel says outright when a performer does not support it.

Why people use it

  • It makes a private feel like a conversation, not a broadcast.
  • The performer can react to you, not just to text.
  • Some formats, such as instruction or roleplay, work better with it.

How to keep it private

Your camera is the most personal thing you can share on a cam site. Before you turn it on:

  • Check the frame. Nothing identifying behind you: mail, photos, windows.
  • Keep your face out if you are unsure. Many viewers share from the neck down.
  • Use the site’s own button, never an outside video app.

Our cam site privacy guide covers the rest, and cam scams to avoid explains why you never move a private off the platform.

Where it is common

Cam2cam is standard on private-led sites such as LiveJasmin, Flirt4Free and ImLive, and on matchers such as Jerkmate, where the one-to-one is the whole product. Random-video sites like Sexymeet.tv are cam2cam by design: both cameras are on from the first second.
