Why the First Page Isn’t Always the Cam Site

Why the First Page Isn’t Always the Cam Site

Click a cam link and you may not land on the cam site. You land on a welcome page: a signup form, a promo, or a quiz. This is normal, and once you know how it works it stops being confusing.

What a welcome page is

Cam sites pay referral partners for new members, so they build many entry pages and test which works best. A partner link can route you to any of them. Some sites rotate dozens of entry pages automatically.

What you might see

  • The real lobby: the best case. Stripchat and Chaturbate often open straight into it.
  • A signup wall: email and password first, as on Xcams.
  • A join pitch: a page selling one-to-one video, as on LiveJasmin‘s first page.
  • A different brand: the rare one to watch for. On one XLoveCam visit, we got a different site.

How to read it

Look at three things: the domain in the address bar, the price on the screen, and whether you can see a live room. If the domain matches and you can see rooms, carry on. If not, slow down. Our signup checklist covers the rest.

Why we tell you

Our reviews describe the page we saw, not a promise about every visit. When a site rotates its welcome pages, we say so in the review. That is why a review like XLoveCam carries a lower rating than the brand alone would earn.

Start from our ranked list, and read how to pick a cam site if you are comparing several.
